It’s like having a tiny little assistant trapped in a truly wireless earbud. Meet Sony Xperia Ear Assistant.
Sony Xperia Ear Assistant
This seems pretty cool and I want to try! Xperia is a single earpiece that enables the user to schedule appointments, receive reminders, and even directions without lifting a finger.
Xperia is voice activated and communicates with cellular devices using Bluetooth and NFC technology. In doing so, users are granted an in-ear assistant with the ability to understand and perform commands that range from a simple request of the date and time, to battery life. But What makes Xperia especially cool is the ability to answer more detailed questions such as “What do I have planned tomorrow?” and “How do I get to…?” It also has the ability to send messages to your contacts.
In addition, Xperia has also been built with intuitive motion controls. Thanks to a “proximity sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer, it knows if it’s in your ear, not in use or in its charging case, and reacts accordingly,” writes Sony. So much so, the bud can sense a nod.
However, I am unsure of whether the earpiece is able to play music and answer calls. I’m sure we will find out more on this in the near future.
Xperia made its first appearance at Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain this past February. It then showed again at IFA in Berlin, Germany. At that time, Sony announced the bite-sized electronic planner is slated for a November arrival. If interested in the Sony Xperia Ear Assistant, head over to Sony to register for updates.
