Basslet, a Portable Subwoofer For Your Body

Wearables are getting out of control! So we’re taking a departure from headphone news to discuss Basslet, a portable subwoofer for your body.

Basslet, a Portable Subwoofer For Your Body

Yep, you read that correctly. This subwoofer on your wrist will resonate throughout your entire body. The sleek looking wristlet is a black matte square, that aesthetically speaking is super trendy. It is discreet enough to blend with your ensemble, but powerful enough to give you the kick you’re looking for from your headphones. Also, the straps can be swapped with any 24mm straps to really jazz up your ensemble.

So, how do you get to feel the boom? The bass providing wristlet works in tandem with a sender. The Basslet uses a patent-pending LoSound engine that recreates frequency responses between 10 to 250 Hertz. The LoSound engine provides a bass-optimized frequency response and large dynamic range to handle low end peaks with extreme accuracy while while communicating with the sender. This allows you to feel everything from melodic bass lines to thunderous bass drops throughout your body.

Lofelt describes the the experience as feeling the sound all around you. A deaf woman advised her experience was basically indescribable via Basslet’s Kickstarter campaign. “Words can’t describe. I’m deaf, but I can feel the music through the vibration.”

Creators at Lofelt promise the Basslet can not be heard by passerby. And thanks to ultra-low latency technology their should be no delay between hearing the bass and feeling it. The Basslet should provide up to six hours of play time at the maximum volume while only requiring one hour to be rejuiced again. Pretty sweet deal!

The sender doesn’t require any additional apps or technology to work with your device. It merely uses the standard 3.5mm headphone input and output to connect. The sender also features a USB input for charging as well as a patent pending magnetic charging interface for the Basslet.

The Basslet can be purchased by making a pledge of about $158 USD.
