The fitness based earbuds come after a number of completely independent buds have hit the market by both established and newly-launched tech companies. Samsung Gear IconX, Bragi Dash, and Earin are just a few popular makes. Jabra’s “elite” model promises it is the most technically advanced pair. But how so?
The Jabra Elite Sport boasts superior sound quality for listening to music and answering calls. The buds feature bass enriched speakers with four advanced microphones to filter out background noise. This ensures only your voice is heard in every environment. As I earlier mentioned, Jabra is known as a maker of call center headsets, so I’d expect nothing less.
Though “elite,” the buds fall short where all other makes do – battery life. These buds will give you a 3 hour run which is what most pairs can provide. But, an additional 6 hours is stored in the accompanying rechargeable case. Connectivity is another issue plaguing truly wireless buds. So I’ll make no assumptions here.
However, Jabra redeems itself with some awesome fitness features. The buds are completely waterproof with a military grade resistance. They provide an in-ear fitness coach and a companion app that monitors you progress and predicts your race pace.
Sound-wise, Jabra Elite Sport’s bass enriched speakers reach a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hertz and provide HearThrough technology for the ability to tune into your environment when need be. Nice!
The Jabra Elite Sport is currently available for pre-order at a price tag of $249.99 and will beginning shipping in late September. Jabra has advised there could be delays until mid-November.
