FIT – JBL Reflect Fit Heart Rate Wireless Sport Headphones Review

Runners rejoice. The fit on these headphones is extremely secure. There’s no annoying over-ear band, just an ergonomic ear tip (Freebit) that seals to your ear. They’re easy to put on and the ear tips come in three different sizes. They’re also water water resistant, so you can sweat your heart out. The neck band, which acts as the heart rate monitor is very light, and I didn’t feel it once it was around my neck.

The earphones are controlled by 4 buttons on the neck band. There are two on the right, one which reads heart rate, and two on the left. They’re very easy to control, and the heart rate monitor does your reading with one touch. The heart rate sensor is located inside the right earbud, through the sound tunnel. Pretty smart. The JBL Reflect Fit also pairs your heart rate to many different sports phone apps. The earphones allow for for hands-free calling and use vibration to alert you to calls. The battery lasts for up to 10 hours, and the wireless range extends to about 30 feet.

SOUND – JBL Reflect Fit Heart Rate Wireless Sport Headphones Review

If the earbuds are the right fit and are sealed well enough, you’ll hear a rich and heavy bass that stays true to the JBL brand. There’s quite a bit of muddiness, which is also typical for JBL. The mids are lacking but the treble isn’t too bright.  The sound isn’t spectacular, but for a pair of wireless sports earphones, I was happy. Pop, hip hop and EDM are fun to listen to; nice and punchy. Drums have presence, but vocals and acoustic guitars are a little distant. Rock has a fullness to it, but folk and classical are less ideal. If your priority is sound, there are other wireless headphones out there that are more impressive. But if you’re a runner or spend a lot of time at the gym, the JBL Reflect Fit are the ones to go with.
