Look & Feel

It’s been a while since there’s been a high-profile on-ear wireless headphone like the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100. With this new addition to their wireless catalog, the Aventho 100 bolsters their lineup with one of their most portable headphones to date. Its design is a bit of a throwback, as it appears stylistically old-school, but the build quality is top-notch. Constructed with premium materials, the AVENTHO 100 Wireless weighs only 220 grams and blends aluminum with high-quality textiles for a sleek, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Its foldable design enhances portability, making it an excellent option for travel or daily commuting. The on-ear fit (supra-aural) offers a snug seal without excessive clamping, emphasizing both comfort and isolation.

Design & Functionality

At their core, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 uses 45 mm dynamic drivers with a nominal impedance of 48 ohms, offering a frequency response of 20 Hz to 22 kHz. The closed-back, on-ear acoustic system delivers a rich, balanced sound signature described by Beyerdynamic as “uncompromising,” ensuring the same audiophile precision the brand is known for. To put it simply, the Aventho 100 pushes a lot of volume, giving your tracks a good amount of headroom for adjustment.

The AVENTHO 100 Wireless features active noise cancellation (ANC) alongside a Transparency Mode for situational awareness. Its sophisticated microphone system, comprising four digital microphones and two additional ENG mics, enhances voice clarity during calls, further supported by Qualcomm cVc speech enhancement technology. It’s an efficient level of noise isolation, effective for daily transportation in areas with high activity. This isn’t Sony or Bose level, but it does its job for the price.

Bluetooth

Connectivity is powered by Bluetooth 5.4, which ensures low-latency transmission and strong wireless stability. The headphones support advanced codecs such as SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless, catering to users who prioritize both convenience and sound fidelity. Multipoint pairing allows simultaneous connections with multiple devices, such as a laptop and smartphone, while Google Fast Pair provides an effortless setup experience.

Battery Life

Battery performance is another standout feature. A 630 mAh internal battery delivers up to 60 hours of playback without ANC and up to 40 hours with ANC enabled. A quick-charge function provides around 15 hours of listening time from just 15 minutes of charging, while a full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours via the USB-C port.

Soundstage

For a pair of on-ear Bluetooth headphones, the Aventho 100 is admirably wide. Channel separation is clear, leading to a better positional identity in the stereo field. It’s a very linear presentation, though, spanning from left to right in a straight line with little dimension to it. Sound placement and spatial movement are all intact, though, still behaving like a Beyerdynamic product at its core. Instruments are individualized well for wireless headphones, bringing good immersion in the stereo field.

Low End

While EQ can give the bass more vigor, the standard tuning has a nice natural timbre to it. The tone has a persistent bloom in the bottom end that separates itself well for a more linear resposne. It has a smooth texture that isn’t exactly tactile, but provides an engrossing resonance that gives the low frequencies a consistent spotlight without going over the edge.

Mids

The midrange is a lot more capable than other wireless headphones in this price range. It’s still pretty V-shaped, but the surface of the tone is clear and well-articulated for Bluetooth. There’s a touch of warmth that’s not bloated, providing weight to the foundation of the midrange. The fundamental midrange frequencies take a slight hit, but can be combated with EQ. This makes vocals more dominant in the mix, while the instruments around them are given enough room to show some semblance of layering.

Highs

I tend to add some kind of high shelf on my Bluetooth headphones when given the opportunity, but I didn’t have to do that here. The treble is a little soft, but the resolution is surprisingly clear for wireless headphones. Beyerdynamic tends to favor this treble tick, but the Aventho 100 doesn’t go as far as their studio headphones. The highs don’t have as much heat to them as those headphones, but the Aventho 100 doesn’t lose fidelity to them. High frequencies are light and delicate, lacking some strike, but satisfying to listen to for pure enjoyment.

Summary

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 Wireless strikes a fine balance between classic design and modern functionality. Its compact build, exceptional comfort, and extended battery life make it an easy recommendation for those seeking a stylish and capable pair of on-ear headphones. While its ANC isn’t at the level of Sony or Bose, the Aventho 100 more than compensates with its refined tuning, clean midrange, and surprisingly immersive soundstage. For listeners who value both portability and fidelity, this is one of the best on-ear wireless options in 2025, and a standout addition to Beyerdynamic’s legacy of precision audio.
