What To Look Out For At CanJam NYC 2026

Every year, CanJam NYC brings together some of the most innovative brands in personal audio, giving enthusiasts the chance to hear the latest advancements in headphones, DACs, amplifiers, and in-ear monitors before they reach the wider market. CanJam NYC 2026 looks especially promising, with several manufacturers unveiling new flagship products and experimental technologies designed to push the boundaries of high-fidelity listening. Here are some of the standout products I’m most excited to hear on the show floor. Here are some of the standout products I’m most excited to hear on the show floor.

Headphones

HiFiMAN WiFi Headphones

Both the HE1000 and Arya are receiving new Wi-Fi-only versions. They use HiFiMAN’s Himalaya technology combined with their Stealth planar magnetic drivers to deliver a whole new level of wireless listening. I’m excited to hear how well the exceptional sound of the HE1000 and Arya translates to a wireless environment. It could be a great package for cordless listening while you still want to hear lossless transmission, and if successful, could be a good solution for a more comfortable at-home hi-fi system.

Austrian Audio Arranger

The Austrian Audio Composer is a favorite of mine, especially when paired with the Full Score One amplifier. Now for CanJam NTC 2026, Austrian Audio is showcasing its new headphone, The Arranger. The Arranger is an open-back over-ear headphone that features a custom 44 mm dynamic driver. This is a newly developed design that has a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated diaphragm and proprietary ring-magnet system, engineered for fast transient response, low distortion (<0.1% THD), and controlled bass extension. I’m looking forward to hearing how it compares to the flagship Composer and how well it synergizes with the Full Score One.

Audeze LCD-5s

Of course, I will be interested in Audeze’s new flagship headphone. I liked the LCD-5 quite a bit, but potential improvements to its tuning have me very excited. The LCD-5s implements Audeze’s SLAM (Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator) technology, with a 90 mm planar magnetic driver built around Audeze’s nano-scale Parallel Uniforce diaphragm, Fluxor magnet array, and Fazor phase-management system, engineered to minimize distortion while maintaining fast transient response. It’s certainly an ambitious headphone design, and a must-hear if you’re at the show.

Final Audio DX10000CL

I recently reviewed the Final Audio DX4000CL, but there’s a Flapship model that Final will have available at their booth this year. There’s not much info about the DX1000CL, other than that they are closed-back headphones with dynamic drivers, and they will have a premium price point. I’ve been a fan of Final Audio’s recent over-ear headphones, so I’ll definitely be heading over to their booth to give them a listen.

Grell OAE2

Axell Grell is credited with some of Sennheiser’s most famous headphones. He’s been doing his own thing for a few years now, but I haven’t been more excited to hear what he has to offer than with the new OAE2. This is a new over-ear open-back headphones. These headphones use a dynamic driver with a bio-cellulose diaphragm and a unique acoustic approach called Front-sided Sound Field Modulation (FSFM), which positions the driver to interact more naturally with the outer ear for a speaker-like soundstage. I will definitely be stopping by their booth to give the OAE2 a listen.

DACs and Amplifiers

iFi IDSD Phantom

It’s been a while since I’ve heard a high-end DAC/amp from iFi, so the new IDSD Phanton is something I’m looking forward to trying out. The IDSD Phantom is a flagship all-in-one desktop component designed to serve as a high-end DAC, network streamer, and headphone amplifier for serious audiophile setups. Built around a quad Burr-Brown DAC architecture, it supports extremely high-resolution playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and DSD512, with iFi’s proprietary DSD2048 remastering engine and K2HD processing designed to enhance detail and restore harmonic information lost in digital recordings. I’m interested to see what headphones they’ll have to try with the Phantom and assess its properties.

Fiio Warmer R2R

I was interested in the Fiio Warmer R2R just based on the look of it. I’m just a sucker for VU meters. The FiiO WARMER R2R is a desktop DAC and tube buffer designed to add a warm, analog-like character to digital audio systems. At its core is a fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor-ladder DAC, a design favored by many audiophiles for its natural timbre and smooth transient response compared with typical delta-sigma converters. The unit also incorporates four JJ Electronic E88CC vacuum tubes in the analog stage. Fiio’s R2R DACs are very impressive, so I’m looking forward to how this technology has developed with the Warmer.

IEMs

Volk Audio x Astell & Kern Stella

Astell & Kern’s IEM collaborations are always an exciting proposition. This time, A&K is uniting with Volk Audio, which released one of my favorite IEMs last year, the ÉTOILE. This has quickly become one of my most anticipated products to try at this year’s CanJam NYC, and I can’t wait to visit their booth to hear it myself. This collaboration also includes Grammy-winning mastering engineer Michael Graves, as if these IEMs didn’t have enough merit to back up their hype.

Strauss & Wagner New IEM Sample

The Audio46 booth is where you’ll be able to try a myriad of different products, including many of Strauss & Wagner’s new accessories. The new Monte Carlo cable is the biggest standout, but they’ll also have an early version of a new IEM. This new IEM goes for $399, hoping to make an impression and break out into the audiophile crowd. It’ll be interesting to see how well a brand mainly known for its consumer products handles a more audiophile sound.
