Bluesound has announced the PULSE SUB, a completely redesigned wireless powered subwoofer created to add greater depth and impact to music, movies, television, and games. Equipped with a 350-watt amplifier and dual-opposing 6.5-inch woofers, the new model promises more powerful bass while maintaining a compact, living-room-friendly design. Built around the BluOS ecosystem, the Bluesound PULSE SUB can connect wirelessly with compatible Bluesound soundbars, speakers, and streaming amplifiers. It will be available later this year for $1,099 in the United States and $1,299 in Canada.
Dual-Opposing Woofers and 350 Watts of Power
At the center of the PULSE SUB are two custom 6.5-inch woofers positioned opposite one another. The drivers are powered by a 350-watt amplifier featuring Bluesound’s Smart DSP technology. According to Bluesound, the new architecture provides 2.5 times more power than the previous generation. It is designed to reproduce the low-frequency effects of movies and games while also bringing more weight and scale to music. The dual-opposing configuration helps counteract the mechanical forces produced by each driver. This reduces cabinet movement, unwanted vibration, and resonance, allowing the PULSE SUB to generate cleaner and more controlled bass without drawing attention to its physical location.
Wireless Integration With BluOS Products
The Bluesound PULSE SUB was developed as a companion for the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars. Once connected to a home network through Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the subwoofer can discover and pair with a compatible Bluesound player through the BluOS Controller app. Users can adjust the subwoofer’s volume, crossover frequency, and phase directly from the app. These controls make it easier to tailor its low-frequency response to different rooms, speaker configurations, and listening preferences. The PULSE SUB is also compatible with other Bluesound products, including the POWERNODE wireless streaming amplifier, PULSE M wireless speaker, and PULSE FLEX. When combined with the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE FLEX, the subwoofer can become part of a complete wireless surround sound system.
Support for Wired Audio Systems
Although the PULSE SUB is primarily intended for wireless BluOS systems, Bluesound has included a low-level analog input for broader compatibility. This allows the unit to operate as a conventional wired active subwoofer with other audio systems. Ethernet connectivity is also available for installations where a wired network connection is preferred. Together, these options give the PULSE SUB more flexibility across both Bluesound and traditional stereo or home theater setups.
A Compact Subwoofer Designed for Modern Rooms
The redesigned PULSE SUB occupies just over one square foot of floor space. Bluesound says its compact enclosure is intended to sit naturally alongside contemporary furniture without dominating the room. Its appearance follows the design language of Bluesound’s latest PULSE wireless speakers, with soft contours, tonal-weave fabric grilles, and matte satin finishes. Integrated cable-management channels help keep power, Ethernet, and analog cables organized and out of sight. Wireless connectivity also gives users more freedom to position the subwoofer where it delivers the best balance of appearance and acoustic performance.
The Bluesound PULSE SUB will be available later in 2026 through authorized Bluesound retailers, the company’s website, and Amazon. Pricing is set at $1,099 in the United States and $1,299 in Canada.
