At first glance, it appears the second generation Plattan headphones have not changed. Their popular minimalist over-ear design is quite identifiable. With monochrome cans in hues ranging from bold Tomato red and pristine True White, these headphones provide the utmost in fashion and function at an affordable price.
So why redesign the Plattan? To give users a “next level experience in sound and ergonomics.” The headphones now feature a 3D hinge which allows the cans to exercise the utmost flexibility – adapting to any head. They also have the ability to super duper fold-in on themselves allowing for easy portability and neat storage. The ear cushions and headband are said to be softer than their predecessor while providing more sound isolation as well.
Holding onto some of their best features, Urbanears Plattan 2 includes a durable, fabric cable equipped with an in-line mic and controller. It also retains the Zoundplug for daisy-chaining your headphones with others to share your wealth of music.
When it comes to sound, Plattan fans can look forward to refined audio, as promised by the Swedish brand. The drivers have been re-tuned and reconstructed to provide a clearer, more well-defined listening experience.
