This year, the Cupertino-based company is expected to introduce iOS 12, macOS 10.13.4, tvOS 12, watchOS 5, and new software for the HomePod. The WWDC 2018 keynote will be held on June 4th and that’s when we are expected to receive some updates on the new operating systems and hardware. MacRumors adds that tech-gossipers expect this event to introduce new lower-cost MacBook Air models and refreshed iPad Pro models equipped with Face ID.

Developers are able to purchase a $1599 ticket to attend the event once randomly selected from a lottery drawing. P.S. Registration is open now and runs until March 22 at 10AM PT / 1PM ET. Lottery winners will be announced March 23rd. There’s also a chance for student developers to attend for free through Apple’s WWDC scholarships. They will award up to 350 students and members of STEM organizations a WWDC ticket, free lodging, and free one year membership to the Apple Developer Program. Scholarship submissions will be open until Monday, March 26, 2018. Students will be required to build a 3-minute long interactive experience in Swift playground.

For those, whether students or professional, who aren’t able to snag a ticket through the lottery or the scholarship competition, there will be adjacent events going on in which developers can mingle and stream the keynote. AltConf, as it’s being called, is free and runs from June 4-7th.
