What to look forward to at CanJam SoCal 2024

Summer has come and gone but you can still soak up the sun in Southern California as it’s already time for another edition of CanJam. As with every CanJam, there are plenty of new products to be on the lookout for. Below, you can find the headphones and IEMs we’re looking forward to seeing the most at CanJam SoCal 2024.

Headphones

Hifiman HE1000SE Unveiled

Hifiman changed the game with their brand new Susvara Unveiled this year. That headphone featured a brand new design that left the headphone’s drivers exposed while listening. Now they’re bringing that technology to the HE1000SE. According to Dr. Fang Bian, founder and CEO of Hifiman, “The most effective way to avoid sound wave reflections and refractions from the grill is to eliminate the entirety of the grill design, leading to complete openness of the diaphragm. The result is sound that is demonstrably more detailed and open, which is why we refer to this approach as ‘unveiled’ technology.” It’s an exciting new development in headphone design, and it’s definitely worth checking out while at the show. 

Audeze CRBN 2

Another potential game changer coming to the event is the Audeze CRBN2. The original CRBN was an instant CanJam success, and its successor should be no different. Key to the new edition of the headphone is its SLAM technology. This design optimizes air pressure distribution across the driver, which is meant to enhance low-frequency performance without introducing distortion. The goal here is to bring a better and more sophisticated bass response to the world of electrostatic headphones. At the same time, the CRBN2 looks to improve its soundstage and imaging with an enhanced phase response. This set of headphones is sure to steal the show. 

Sivga P2 Pro

Sivga made a huge splash a few years ago with their variant of the Sendy Audio Aiva, the P2. Now they’re back with the P2 Pro, which we reviewed earlier this year. The P2 Pro took everything we loved about the original set and improved it to have a more natural midrange and stronger bass response, while maintaining its sense of detail retrieval. It sports a somewhat new look with its blonde wood ear cups and it also upgrades comfort with a reconfigured headband. Check the P2 out at CanJam and see its beautiful design for yourself. 

Final Audio D8000 DC and DC Pro

Final wowed with their D7000 release at CanJam NYC. Now they’re back with new models, the D8000 DC and DC Pro. These new models look to “start over” on the D8000 line. With updated drivers and damping systems as well as new earpads, these new headphones are sure to please any existing fans of the D8000 line.

Audio-Technica ATH-ADX3000

Modeled after their flagship headphones, Audio-Technica aims to bring their natural Open-Air sound to a “wider audience.” Sporting 58mm integrated driver units which position the diaphragm, voice coil, baffle, and magnet in a single unit, the ADX3000 improves airflow and full-range audio reproduction. It’s exciting to see high end audio companies looking to make their headphones more accessible. We recommend adding this set to your list of items to see. 

IEMs

Letshuoer S12 2024

Letshuoer is looking to make a splash at CanJam with their new S12 2024 Edition. Limited to 2,024 pieces globally, the updated model mostly features cosmetic changes while staying true to its original sound signature. It comes with a limited edition accessory package, including a metal commemorative keychain and an anniversary commemorative card. Internally, it’s got a 14.8mm Planar driver and its cable boasts 392-strand silver plated monocrystalline copper cable with 2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.4mm terminations. We’ve seen a few special edition releases like this from other IEM manufacturers and they’re always fun to give a look to. 

Kinera Celest Ignite XBeast

Kinera is not just famous for their high end products like the Imperial Norn. Their sub-brand Celest boasts great sound performance for the price, and we hope that’s true with their new IgniteX Beast. The new IEM uses a dual-driver hybrid setup. It’s got one 10mm custom-developed dynamic driver as well as one custom BA driver. It clocks in at just $49 with a Type-C variant at $59, and a Type-C with Boom mic for $69. It seems to be geared towards gamers with its various terminations and design. To get an in-ear Type-C headset with a boom mic for under 70 dollars makes this one of the great deals of this CanJam. Definitely go give these a try at their booth.

64 Audio Solo 

64 Audio’s new Solo in-ear monitor, the latest in its tia series, builds on the legacy of the Fourté, Trio, and Duo, setting a new benchmark for portable high-end audio. Featuring a 14.2mm planar magnetic driver, the Solo delivers a wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, providing uniform diaphragm movement for exceptional detail and transient response. Its design includes two Helmholtz resonators for precise tonal adjustments, patented Linear Impedance Design to ensure consistent sound quality across devices, and apex core technology for enhanced comfort and isolation. The Solo offers an agile and realistic listening experience, excelling in accuracy, musicality, and balance, marking a significant advancement in single-driver IEM technology. The new IEM should surely be at their booth. 

Campfire Audio Clara

This IEM is a special new release from Campfire Audio. They’ve been releasing new IEMs prolifically and we’ve covered them closely here at MajorHifi. Designed in collaboration with Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails, it has two different shell versions. The ongoing run has a clear blue 3D printed shell and the limited run comes in a titanium alloy shell. The limited run consists of just 50 pairs, so you’ll definitely want to get a glimpse of it at CanJam. It’s got one 10mm dynamic driver, a Knowles midrange BA, a Knowles tweeter driver, a TAEC resonator driver, and a new tuned mid-acoustic front acoustic bore. There isn’t a ton of information out on this IEM so be sure to check it out at their booth.

Its headphone outputs include one 3.5mm, one 4.4mm, and two 6.3mm outs. It also fits nicely into a 19-inch rack, making it perfect for studio use.
