A couple days ago, I got the chance to stop by my favorite event of the year, the Audio Engineering Society Convention (AES for short). It is a time for meeting up with old audio friends, checking out new products from all of my favorite audio companies, and meeting new folks who are just as nerdy and excited as I am about sound, music, and gear. This year I was delighted to catch a glimpse of the new headphones by Audio Technica, the Audio Technica ATH-M50xRD Limited Edition Headphones, and I thought I’d take a moment to tell you about them.
First Glance- Audio Technica ATH-M50xRD Limited Edition Headphones

First Impressions
The red and gold color reminds me of a normal M50x wearing Ironman armour. Therefore, the color isn’t over-saturated like their old limited edition red. Instead, it is a deep crimson color. It feels more classy and mature to my taste.
The headphones stood out against the sea of black. For $169.00, they take the original style of the M50x to another, more stylish level. As a matter of fact, the color feels unisex, and I like that it feels neither overly masculine or feminine.
When will it be available?
The headphones will ship to Audio 46 in November, but they are available for pre-order now! Audio Technica ATH-M50XRD Pre-Order at Audio 46
