A newcomer to the CanJam NYC 2018 stage will be Japanese IEM makers, HYLA. The company’s sole mission is to “make gorgeous sound a reality.” It looks like the brand does so in one of the most pristine shells I’ve seen to date. Introducing HYLA LA-1 Nerva X.

HYLA‘s IEM is housed in a silver shell, making it look a lot like a fine piece of jewelry. Though, the luxe look isn’t just for aesthetics. The fine metal housings are said to work with the tuning to interpret your music with great detail” while standing waves are attenuated to provide dynamics without fatiguing the sound.
Each housing holds 10 balanced armatures. They are specially vented to adapt to the mid frequencies to match acoustic characteristics of the silver chamber presenting an overall balanced tone with impressively detailed presentation. The high-end in-ear monitors reach a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz on an impedance of 24 ohms.
Obviously something that sounds and looks this good is going to cost a pretty penny. That’s why these IEMs run for $2,730.
HYLA LA-1 Nerva X headphones seem like they’ll be heaven to my ears. I’m hoping I’ll get an audible sample of the pearly gates at CanJam NYC 2018 happening February 17-18.
