Tranquil Noise Cancelling Earplugs

Tranquil Noise Cancelling Earplugs

These earbuds use active noise cancelling to give you three different modes of utter silence. Meet Tranquil noise cancelling earplugs.

These babies don’t play music, but they should do a good job of blocking out background chatter when you try to take an afternoon snooze in the office. And you can most likely get away with it as the bite-sized apparatus is barely visible. The tip fits into the ear canal while the body housing the noise-cancelling technology is placed behind the ear. They are connected to one another with a clear cable. And standing at about 1″ by 1.5″ I’d say “Inconspicuous, yes!”

The tip is comprised of memory foam to comfortably take shape to any wearer’s ear. The memory foam is used to suppress noise from higher frequency sources via passive noise cancelling. The attached device uses active noise cancelling on lower frequencies, such as air conditioner units, airplanes, street noise and more.

Tranquil is able to be used in three different modes. Quiet uses both active and passive noise cancellation to achieve the utmost silence. This setting uses a microphone placed inside the ear to provide the strongest low frequency noise cancellation. Voice mode allows users to hear voices clearly while employing active noise cancellation – which Tranquil is sure to point out QuietOn and HUSH do not have. Voice mode can be used in situations like mowing the lawn or walking in a busy neighborhood. Sleep Mode can tune out snoring sounds and other disruptive noises from your sleep partner so you can get a better night’s rest.

Those interested in Tranquil can head over to Kickstarter to back the project and receive a discount on a pair of buds. The Early Bird special is still available offering Tranquil for $139 rather than the suggested retail price of $199. Orders will ship worldwide to backers in December.
